FIDE rating is the official world-federation number, published for classical, rapid, and blitz. World ranking is that list sorted.

FIDE also defines titles: Candidate Master, FIDE Master, International Master, and Grandmaster. Those are not the same as a website rating.

GChess online rating is for daily practice; FIDE rating is for official events. You can grow both in parallel.
